J Perkins Distribution Ltd are hobby experts. Over the last four decades, they’ve supplied more model aircraft, helicopters, boats, cars and accessories to more shops than we’ve had hot dinners. They just needed a few Teksmart® ‘toys’ to push their products a little harder…
The challenge
As a major UK supplier of remote control products for amateur model makers and enthusiasts, J Perkins is an expert in their field. They stock many stores across the UK and wanted a way to display their products in each store, supplemented by video content to show how products work.
They also wanted to be able to change and update the content to reflect new and pending offers as well as seasonal trends, and to make adjustments for the time of year. So it needed to be a flexible solution, enabling JP staff to adjust the content and manage it to help stimulate sales.
The solution
Teksmart® came up with the idea of using a 22” poster display with a VESA fixing. These are slim and discreet units powered by the Android OS, but big enough to encourage customers to stand and watch images and videos. Another benefit – they represented a very cost effective solution.
The proposed units were easily operable too – it’s all managed by the Teksmart® digital signage software.
Result
The Teksmart® 22” slim line Android digital display units have been a big success in stores. The units are doing the job they were intended to do – raising interest, increasing sales and acting as silent sales people for their POS displays.
